Terry Beavis Summer 2005

We just got back on Saturday (20th August 2005). I endorse all above (See Kevin Free Summer 2005 Trip) and have a few extras

We just got back on Saturday. I endorse all above and have a few extras:

  1. Michel (manager) from Chalet Luigi said to expect a few more extras by the winter, for example outdoor BBQ on patio. The building isn't being painted because they are covering it in stone - it looks very good.
  2. Lauren (owner) of Casa got a good talking too over a few beers in the pub about the lack of pasta on the menu. His arguement was that they were running on limited staff. As a slight aside, he is considering selling because they were maxed out at 200 places per day in the winter (he is making a fortune - alright for some) and he doesn't see the scope for further development.
  3. Nathalie (manager) of the Hemingway restaurant is a diamond. She has just taken over this season and will be there for the winter so I am positive about that.
  4. Anecdotal evidence from locals and HMC staff suggests HMC's occupancy figures are garbage! Almost full for most of the winter and 20% for the summer!
  5. Francis (seems to be the permanent bar man) in the pub 'forced' us to stay in the bar until 0330 on two occasions. When he had Carmel (his partner in crime) with him on the second occasion they tried to get us to go to the Geo nightclub until 0600 but we declined.
  6. Jean-Marc (Resort Club) was non-existent. Apparently he was having a tumour removed from his arm.
  7. Etienne (Resort Club) was running round like a nutter - covering for Jean-Marc no doubt.
  8. Michael (Resort Club) did a great job of keeping all the resort kids entertained.
  9. The resort club team helped us sort out some forms (you don't need them if you have the new pet passport) we needed to take to the vet to bring the dogs back to the UK. Very helpful but one of them wasn't exactly enthusiastic in her help. If anyone needs advice on taking dogs abroad for the first time (it was a worry for us but pretty simple if you are organised) then let me know.

Overall I was pretty pleased. Our room could have been a lot cleaner though. Hope to see some of you out there this winter.

Terry
