Messages of Condolence

Since people heard the tragic news, owners and friends have been sending their thoughts and memories of Cait.

For those of us who met and dealt with Cait she was a wonderful ambassador for her sport and her work, and we will always remember her as she was at her birthday party last Friday night, full of the joys and enjoying life to the full. Peace be with you Cait.
Jim and Jenny

Saddest news for a long time. Our thoughts must be with her friends and parents. She will be badly missed because we thought she was a great character.
Gareth, Julie, Jack

Can't believe it. All seems very unfair. She was a great character and will be sorely missed.
Margaret and Peter

A terrible tragedy. A loss of a great life. Perhaps we could name a part of the village after her as a memorial.

We were shocked and stunned ... Cait was an amazing person and in the short time she worked with HMC she obviously had a significant impact on many owners. Her ability to get things done and her positive attitude were such an inspiration to us and although we only met her a couple of times her love of life was so evident - she will indeed be missed very much.
Keith and Lisa

Like everyone who knew Cait, I am devastated at the dreadful news of her death. I can only offer my most sincere sympathies to her parents and family and say how much she touched the lives of many owners in Arc 1950. God Bless you Cait.
Mandy

The family and I met Cait for the first time through her new role at 1950 in January and got the chance to chat more during our week in the resort this month. Her obvious enthusiasm for her sport and life in general shone through in our all too brief chats. We last spoke the other Friday when she was about to go up to 2000 to register and she told us of her great result in Italy the previous week. I will remember her on the terrace of Luigis watching and enjoying the big air competition in the company of people that had enormous respect and obvious fondness for her and her love of life.

We have just heard of the devasting news of Cait and can't quite comprehend that we were only having drinks with her a few weeks ago. She was a breath of fresh in Le Village and will be greatly missed by all. Our deepest sympthy goes out to her loved ones, friends and all that knew her. She died doing what she loved the most. God bless Cait.

At the moment the family in London especially need to feel close to her by reading anything and everything about her so I'm sure it will be helpful for us, if very difficult to read. Cait's mum has been so overwhelmed by the support and love that everyone has showed them so far and we all look forward to meeting everyone in Les Arcs on Saturday to celebrate my beautiful and wonderful cousin.
Julia (Cait's cousin)

We were totally devastated to hear this sad news - we only found out about it in todays Sunday Times. We too first met Cait in her "work" mode in Arc1950 in February. She was a delight to deal with, friendly, efficient, enthusiastic and helpful - a real asset. When we went out again at Easter Cait was so pleased following her racing in Italy, and made her excitement at the prospect of racing at the mecca of her sport - the KL in Arc 2000 - very obvious to see. We met her later in our stay as she was leaving Tour du Vins, jubilant with her performance which had it been ratified would have made her the fastest British Woman ever, excited and bubbly and totally exhilarated.

We left on the Saturday following her birthday celebrations, with Cait really looking forward to the opportunity to be a forerunner with an official timekeeper in place so she could make the record official. A truly sad loss. Our sympathies to Cait's family and friends. In the little time we spent with her she made a large impression. She will be sorely missed. Thank you Nigel for the moving photographs, and Jim, we think your idea of some sort of memorial in the village would definitely be appropriate.

I just logged on to check the site and I am absolutely devastated by news of Cait's mortal accident. Like everyone else in the resort who was fortunate to have met her, I feel I have lost a mate. We got on great and it was such a pleasure when she appeared at reception, always happy and pleased to see you. She also got everything sorted without fuss and never seemed impatient of my requests. I am so sorry to hear this news, but it must be so so sad for the all the people more connected with her. Jan and my thoughts are for the family and friends at this time. We will miss her.
Rob and Jan

Like everyone, I am staggered and saddened to have read this awful news. I met Cait in January when she was most helpful after we had suffered a theft. We saw her again at Easter and spoke a lot about her forthcoming competitions and her new puppy. She was a credit to the resort and HMC and will be sorely missed.
Chris

In memory of Caitlin Tovar I just wanted to send a message to express my deepest sympathies to Cait's family and friends for their loss. I went to school with Cait and she was a force of nature, feisty, opinionated, and vivacious. Having not been in touch with her for some years it was a real honour to hear of her amazing achievements. I'm just so proud of Cait, she just f**king went for it and in my mind, that makes her one hell of a lady.
Julia

We were lucky enough to spend a few evenings with Cait. In January she managed to be the most sober amongst our party after an evening drinking toffee vodka at Latinos in Arc 2000. She also introduced us to the joys of the mongolian bbq at East in Arc1950. We were really pleased to see her again at Easter. Jack our 11 year old was inspired by Cait and wanted to be taught skiing by her. Any how we just wanted to send our love and say that we were pleased to have met her. We will always remember her.
Love - Gareth, Julie and Jack

Like all owners we have been devastated by news of Cait's death. She will be remembered for her energy, enthusiasm and for being good at her job. Next season will not be the same.
Margaret and Peter

I did not know Cait as well as I knew the other members of her family, so this message is mainly to her parents and Claire and David. My heartfelt condolences are sent to you all.
Jeanette
