Introductions

Welcome to the new communications channel

Welcome to a new theme - a blog about Arc1950.

For the first post, I thought I'd start with a little background about me and the family, then a bit about what this Blog is for. Next time around,  we'll get to the useful and occasionally contentious.

I'm Jim Wilks:  50 years old (or 40 with 10 years experience...)  married for 22 years to Jenny, 1 daughter Hazel aged 9.  We purchased our apartment in Arc1950 in 2003,  Refuge du Montagnard, using the 7 week leaseback option.

Me,  mum, sister, niece, nephew and Hazel, outside Valentinos. Jenny is behind the camera.

I currently work as a programme manager in the Waste industry, , delivering projects that have complex interaction between differing disciplines - IT, logistics, HR , PR - and often impacting on both public and private sector clients.

I'm still at it full time, so if things get a little disjointed around here, you'll note I've got my excuses in first.

With respect to Arc1950,  I've been involved at various stages in the discussion forums (anyone else remember Rob's AOL group?) , committees, feedback loops,  and the websites that Arc1950 owners have put together:  mainly as a backlash against being taken for a ride by our so-called service providers.

At the time of writing,  I'm still President  of the Owners' Association - and grateful for the support shown by everyone who has voted for your committee over these past couple of years.

Last year, in an effort to gain a semblance of control over what appeared to be our biggest problem, myself and a number of other OA enthusiasts got ourselves elected to the ASL steering committee.  And then somehow, I was chosen to be the ASL president.

So if I can use this blog to give you some  insight in to arguments had, decisions made, legal wrangles ongoing, spending options,  and general information about who, what, why and when, I hope you'll begin to appreciate what is going on behind the scenes in your name, and possibly come up with some more ideas.

But that's it for the first go at this, I'm  glad you made it this far. If you'd like to leave a comment, I'd be happy to hear from you.

And remember:  without you, there is no village.   See you there sometime.

Jim
