Kitchener-Smith Wines - Greek Wine Tasting - Tuesday 30th October 2007
Greek Tasting - Tuesday 30th October
Greece is making some of the most exciting individualistic wines on the planet at the moment and there is a small band of extremely determined and talented winemakers making the wine world sit up and take notice.
This small but growing number have access to a diverse country that has a real spread of terroir and over three hundred grape varieties most of them unheard of, some of them even on the verge of extinction.
Greek wines have a true sense of place and have excellent natural acidity and length. Long are the days of Retsina and Demestica. Thank God!
So, who better to whisk us through this wondrous, mostly undiscovered part of the world than Steve Daniel, ex Oddbins buyer, and the man who introduced the UK to Chilean wines, way back in 1991, and perhaps more importantly, the man who paved the way for Greek wines to enter the UK as well...
Tonight, we'll be sampling 8 wines from the top three producers in Greece with a canape reception and the in-famous cheese board.
Tickets for this unique event are priced at £25.
Please arrive from 6.30pm, the tasting will commence at 7pm...
To be held at La Cave @ Hush, Lancashire Court, Mayfair, London, W1S 1EY
As most of you know, La Cave has seating for just 25 people, so tickets will be sold simply on a first come first served basis...
I look forward to hearing from you soon...
