Update #1: Proposed Owners' Association
It has been great to have a lot of reaction and comment on the idea of an Owner's Association, thank you to everyone who has posted on the threads. I hope more people will do so in the future.
However, to move us forward some decisions have had to have been taken, and they go like this:
- Since we have a variety of names being put forward for the committee, we thought we would close the nominations next Friday, 2nd May, at midnight. So, if you'd like to be considered, please put your name forward soon.
The aim is to form an interim working group to take us up to the first AGM, where all posts will be vacated, and formal election / re-election will happen.
Note that it is quite likely that where more than one name has been suggested, theneveryone will be asked to contribute in this busy start-up phase.
- It is anticipated that the AGM will take place towards the end of June / early July this year, probably physically based in London, but with the intent that it is accessible remotely.
Details have yet to be worked out, and of course will be subject to cost / technology constraints, and ultimately the timing will depend on acceptance of our articles by the authorities in Chambery/Albertville.
As has been suggested, this will also be an opportunity to determine, vote on and publish our first fledgling positions on a number of subjects, including our constitution.
- Regarding membership, the formal declaration has not yet gone to the prefecture, and we are still looking to get a French bank account established.
Nevertheless an interest will have had to have been registered: as per Fabrice's post, membership of an association created under Loi
1er Juillet 1901 requires positive affirmation. Details on how to do that will follow.
- Note for future reference, all subscriptions or annual fees will be in Euros only.
Once again, I can only say thank you to everyone who has encouraged us to get this far - we are now entering the scary phase, which is actually delivering, and we need the support, help and input from everyone.
The slopes close on a highly successful season tomorrow, so no more distractions!
