Update #2: Proposed Owners' Association

Following further activities around the message board and email systems this week, there has been progress in a number of areas.

The major area of discussion is that of the appointment of the interim committee members. Thank you for everyone who nominated, volunteered or press-ganged people into the role.

As state these positions will be in effect until the first AGM , where we hope to have the full voting rigour in place.

The interim appointments are:

  • President :  Jim Wilks
  • Vice President / Secretary*:  Fabrice Perez
  • Vice President / Secretary*:  Nigel Campling
  • Communications:  Richard Barlow
  • Treasurer: Andrew Beale.

*Note - As both Nigel and Fabrice were nominated for both posts, and no-one else was, they need to sort out between them which title and work load they want!

My thanks to everyone who has gracefully accepted their roles over the coming months.

In order to engage with Intrawest on this subject, and also to elicit their help in contacting the 700+ owners in the village with news of what is happening, I spoke at length today with David Gerardi, and then Olivier Trinquand, our new contacts within the organisation.

Like Gervais before, both were extremely positive about the formation of an OA, and have offered help and insights into getting it off the ground.  I am encouraged by this desire to work with us, and while we may all have some reservations and cynicism about ITW based on past performance, I sincerely believe an OA will help us to ensure their  'good behaviour' going forward.

Later this week I will post specific discussion points from today's two meetings - and hopefully you will wish to contribute to the debate.

Now that we have some named officers in place, our next OA actions are to get the paperwork to the Prefecture, to get the word out to the greater number of owners beyond this particular site, and to set a timeline for delivering the first AGM.

No peace for the wicked.

It's your village, be  part of its future.
